…as candidate promises to cut bureaucratic process in state building industry
The Lagos state chapter of Estate Rent and Commission Agent Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN), has adopted Lagos state governorship candidate under the ruling All Progressive Congress, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as its governorship candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The association described the APC candidate who until his political aspiration was the Managing Director of Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) as ”one of them’’ who understands the building industry better than any other aspirant.
The association said the motive to pledge allegiance with the governorship candidate is also underscored with his five pillars agenda for the state which they believe will make positive impact in the state and the association.
Speaking during a stakeholders meeting between the association, the governorship candidate and his campaign train held in the aspirant’s campaign office in Lagos, the chairman of the association, Hon Kassim Adeshina described the APC governorship candidate in the state is a patriotic, professional and technocrat who as an estate surveyor understands the undertone of the building industry in the state.

He said the association decided to support the aspirant as a result of his giant stride in both the private and public sector which he believes will help to position the state among leading economic cities in the world.
”We are supporting Sanwo and endorsing him because he’s one of us. Coming from LSDPC which is part of the built environment makes us to join your team and endorse you. We believe you will uplift Lagos state and the building industry.’’
The chairman used the occasion to present a seven-point demands to the aspirant which he appealed to him to adopt if elected governor of state in the elections.
The Association appealed to the governorship aspirant to upgrade Lagos State Real Estate Transaction Department (LASRETRAD) as a state agency to check-mate and raid out quack agents in the state.
They also requested speedy processing of tenancy matters in the judiciary and adoption of arbitration and mediation centres in the Judiciary for judgement and for restructuring of land grabbers committee in order to create enabling environment for both local and foreign investors.
The association equally appealed to the governorship candidate to formulate policy that will ensure speedy documentation of land processes and approval in the state and cut bureaucratic processes that serves as stigma to ease of doing business in the real estate sector.
In his remarks, an elated Sanwo-Olu who is also a professional Estate Surveyor appreciated the association for their teeming support and decision to adopt him as the state governorship candidate.
He promised to make the association demands a ‘’to-do-list’’ if elected in order to fast-track the development of real estate sector in the state.
‘’I really appreciate you for this endorsement; I believe our state will be great. In all your demands, I will add all your demands to my to-do list because the real estate is vital to economic development. We are going to cut the red tapes in the sector to ensure speedy process of documentation and approval.’’
The Business Eyes gathered that, Lagos state commissioner for Housing, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal, Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, APC leader in the state, Cardinal James Odunmbaku among others were present at the event.
